NATIONAL STRATEGY & VISION
Vision & Strategic Blueprint of the National Tourism Digital Infrastructure (NTDI)
Establishing a sovereign Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) to enhance national competitiveness, foster inclusive growth, and secure lasting economic resilience for Thailand's tourism ecosystem.
The Sovereign Need
Why Thailand needs a tourism digital backbone of its own
A tourism economy that depends on a handful of foreign platforms is exposed on revenue, data and traveler safety. NTDI sets down a common national foundation that Thailand's own operators can build on.
- Platform fee ≤ 15%
Less reliance on foreign OTAs, and fair economic retention
Reduce dependence on monopolistic foreign booking platforms through a fair fee structure capped at 15%, so most of the revenue stays with Thai operators and communities.
- Safety, Health & Comfort Network
Universal Safety, Health & Comfort Across Every Journey
Deploying a comprehensive safety and medical emergency net that connects travelers with proactive care and emergency response at every destination, ensuring seamless peace of mind and comfort throughout their travels.
- Unified Digital Tooling
Empowering Local Communities With Unified Digital Infrastructure
Providing local operators and communities nationwide with purpose-built digital tools that interconnect all operational layers seamlessly, empowering local businesses to thrive without having to build fragmented systems.
Strategic Framework
Four national strategic pillars
Every NTDI system, partnership and policy is organised around these four pillars.
- Pillar 1
National Open Architecture
Open Architecture & Interoperability
Establishing an open Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) and standardized OpenAPI, enabling seamless interoperability and innovation across all platforms.
- Pillar 2
Universal Safety & Comfort
Safety & Medical Response Network
Integrating emergency response and air ambulance (Sky Doctor) protocols into every route, elevating safety standards and providing absolute peace of mind for travelers.
- Pillar 3
Fair-Share Grassroots Economy
Equitable Revenue Retention
Creating transparent revenue distribution and escrow settlement mechanisms to retain domestic capital and empower local operators with fair economic returns.
- Pillar 4
Unified Digital Ecosystem
Unified Tooling & Co-Creation
Providing centralized, unified digital tools for local operators and communities, enabling seamless operational synergy without the need for fragmented systems.
Institutional Governance
A national alliance of public and private partners
NTDI is overseen by institutions that each hold a distinct responsibility for policy, standards, industry and the field.
Senate Tourism Commission
Oversees policy direction and coordinates government sector collaboration.
Tourism Council of Thailand (TCT)
Drives cooperation and coordinates with central enterprise operators.
TFOPTA
Drives and mobilizes the regional and grassroots operator network.
Nopchalermroj Foundation
