Senate Tourism Commission Endorses NTDI as National Digital Public Infrastructure
The Senate Tourism Commission, having reviewed the framework of the National Tourism Digital Infrastructure (NTDI), hereby states its formal recognition of NTDI as shared national infrastructure for the Kingdom’s tourism sector.
Article 1Recognition as Digital Public Infrastructure
The Commission recognizes NTDI as Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) serving travelers, operators, communities and public agencies on common rules that are open and interoperable.
The Commission considers that tourism data, traveler safety and fair-fee commerce are matters of national public interest, and should not depend on foreign platforms alone.
Article 2Scope of the endorsement
The endorsement covers three areas: (1) sovereignty over tourism data and open standards; (2) traveler safety, including emergency coordination through the SAINT app; and (3) fair-fee commerce, so that more revenue reaches communities and local operators.
Article 3Principles the Commission expects
NTDI is expected to publish open specifications, comply with the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA), maintain transparent and auditable governance, and keep participation open to communities and small enterprises alike.
Article 4Next steps
The Commission will continue to follow progress and invites the relevant agencies to coordinate. Results from the Koh Lipe and Andaman corridor sandboxes will inform its deliberations in the next phase.
